How to turn basic shadow box template into other shapes

1. Extend border

General process:

  • Create 1 square/rectangle with the dimensions you want to extend the layer to.
  • Create 1 square/rectangle that is smaller than the current layer's dimensions a little bit.
  • Select 2 shapes create, centered align them and use "Subtract" tool to make a frame.
  • Centered align and weld that frame with current layer.

2. Square to Hexagon

General process:

  • Create a hexagon that's bigger than the template.
  • Create a square that's a little bit smaller than the template.
  • Centered align 2 shapes create and use "Subtract" tool to make a hexagon frame with empty space inside.
  • Centered align and weld that frame with the template's layer.
